Alex Guarnaschelli
Guarnaschelli Maria Guarnaschelli's child, works as a cookbook editor. Guarnaschelli has graduated from Barnard College in 1991 with a degree in art history. One year she was paid minimum wage at an American Place in 1991. Guarnaschelli began her cooking journey in the kitchen of her mother, watching her cook and edit books. Guarnaschelli's first job was in the kitchen of Larry Forgione. Her son Marc Forgione was the Iron Chef. Guarnaschelli went on to be employed at several restaurants in France and Los Angeles. Guy Savoy runs La Butte Chaillot. Before joining Butter Guarnaschelli, she was executive chef in the Patina restaurant owned by Daniel Boulud and at Joachim Splichal's Patina. She served as executive chef of The Darby restaurant prior to its closure. She serves as chairperson of the Museum of Food and Drink's Culinary Council. Guarnaschelli released her first cookbook in 2013. "Old-School Comfort Food A Memoir of the Way I learned to Cook" mixes autobiographical details with favorite recipes from her professional life that she later adapted to her family home.
